When you think Alienware you’d think, “powerful, expensive and painfully heavy!” It’s true.

My impression of Dell laptops have always been affordable but average, Alienware on the other hand is the exact opposite – expensive and powerful – not forgetting painfully heavy of course. It’s made for gaming, or so I’ve heard, therefore a reasonably larger screen is somewhat expected of it. And when a screen is big… usually the rest of it is too – mass counts in kgs most of the time.

Netbooks have became really popular in the recent years. From the popular Asus Eee PC, now practically every brand has their range of netbooks, Dell is no different of course. You’d think that Alienware would keep it’s standard and maintain it’s high-end prices, well guess again. Then again, if you really think about it, SGD1,699 isn’t exactly considered affordable at all (which reminds me of the Sony Vaio P… going off track here).

I wasn’t there, but news spreads. And it seems Dell has launched the much anticipated Alienware M11x, a powerful 11-inch notebook (or some would consider it a netbook). It was first unveiled at CES 2010 and it is said to harnesses the gaming power of a 15-inch laptop in an 11-inch design weighing in at just under 4.5 pounds.

What’s my final say? As of now… nothing. Let’s wait and see how it goes. You can find out more about it HERE.

Hi Sabby Monster,

Thanks very much for your interesting blog. It’s always nice to see how people on the other side of the globe live, how they share the same joys and sorrows, what they do in their free time, etc.

I actually have a question about your blog. Would you mind helping us with a linguistic research project? We’re compiling data from various Singaporean weblogs. All it requires is checking a few boxes. If you want to take part and/or have more questions, drop me a note ( hack2301@uni-trier.de RE: Question ) so that I can then send you the ‘official’ project eMail. We’d really appreciate your help.

Thanks very much in advance!
Best regards,
– Fran
