Just the other day, a photographer friend of mine said something like, “You know that DSLR bodies these days don’t really last long right?” I said yes but to be honest, I’ve always had the impression they should last quite a while at least. Furthermore, I treat my gadgets with nothing but TLC.

Proving his words wrong, or not entirely correct, here’s a “story” about one daring kickass photographer who went all out to prove Canon is truly one sturdy piece of plastic-mix-metal. He went skydiving with his Canon Rebel XT and it fell off his helmet and plummeted 3,000 feet to the ground below.

Apparently, the Rebel survived the fall and his friend could still use it to this very day. It has a crack in the plastic body and the kit lens is a little jerky when zooming, but functional.
