“Buy Panasonic gadgets”, says Panasonic to employees 0
Haven’t heard from Panasonic for a while… It’s probably just me that is.
Anyway. Here’s a short newsflash from Gizmodo (which I’m reading late of course).
It is said that apart from cutting down 15,000 jobs, Panasonic is “ordering” another 10,000 employees who didn’t get kay-ed (as in axed) to buy their own (Panasonic) gadgets.

Apparently, back in 2002, during the last recession, an incident like such has happened before already. So to many, this is probably no surprise.
Now, we know they need to buy their own gadgets. And it seems, there are also some “ground rules” to follow to this “purchasing order”.
Rule no. 1: Higher-level managers need to purchase 200,000 yen worth of stuff.
Rule no. 2: Mid-level managers will make do with 100,000 yen.
So much for bonuses…
